Projector headlights vs reflector headlights: What LED light will fit?

When you purchase a new LED light, you may wonder.

Are my headlights reflector or projector style? Will this fit the headlight of my projector or reflector?

Most of us have no say in the kind of projector headlamp housing that comes standard on our vehicles.

What makes them different, and what kind of LED light will work with them?

First, let's discuss the traditional reflector. You will first notice the interior of the optical dome. The purpose of the optics was to reflect light into the intended pattern.

The reflector's highly concentrated light spot and straightforward construction are its advantages. The fact that there are some black areas and a less powerful light pattern is one drawback, though.

The structure of the projector housing is very intricate. Most of it has a cut-off shield attached to limit light propagation. It might lessen the possibility of impairing oncoming traffic's view.

The lens lets in the remaining light. And took the shape of a flood light with a distinct cutting edge.

The reflector housing's significantly brighter centre spot is one of the main variations. However, it is less effective than a projector in evenly spreading light.

You can easily fix the reflector housing, and you can make it at a lower cost. Because of this, the majority of automakers will favour reflector housing. Moreover, its room is smaller than the projector's.

The projector casing displays a better spreading beam pattern.

Just one lightbulb could transition between a high and a low beam.

Possess no shadowy areas. The sleek, modern, and stylish appearance of the projector housing makes it the preferred choice for most users.

The best guide when choosing LED lights for the reflector housing is to use the stock headlight bulb. Most LED lights use a filament constructed similarly to that of a halogen or HID lightbulb. This ensures that the optics can accurately reflect the light source. The reflector housing has strict requirements for the light source position.

You could use H4, H13, and 9007, 9004 to put the reflector headlamp in the reflector housing.

The projector housing is more forgiving because of the deeper housing room and cut-off shield structure. As a result, the required light position is substantially broader and can accommodate LED HID, or Halogen lights.

This means you can use any LED light for the projector housing. Just make sure to place the light plates like the original light bulb's filament.
